Game Description

Is Little Kitty, Big City the Next Stray? A Detailed Look

Little Kitty, Big City is a delightful adventure game developed by Double Dagger Studio. You assume the role of the adorable feline protagonist, who, while napping, unexpectedly takes a tumble   down to the streets. Seems kinda like the start of that other cat game, Stray, but I’ll touch on that in a bit. After landing safely into the trash, the mission is crystal clear – find your   way back home. The initial moments of the game introduce a plethora of personality and whimsy  to our furry hero, establishing the endearing and relaxed tone for the rest of the game.

As soon as you hit the streets, you’re given the chance to familiarize yourself with the controls. As a playful cat, you can dash, leap, and engage in various other antics, all of which felt incredibly smooth. Along the way, you’ll encounter fish,  which increases your climbing stamina—a feature that feels reminiscent of the same system from modern Zelda games. It wasn’t on my Little Kitty, Big City bingo card but no complaints! Although I encountered a few glitches and minor hiccups, particularly during climbing buildings, they were so minor that they didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the overall gameplay experience.

Apart from falling and playing as cats, Little Kitty, Big City and Stray don’t share much DNA. Little Kitty adopts a more laid-back, arcade-style adventure vibe, offering players the freedom to explore at their leisure with minimal pressure. Whether it’s leisurely strolling through the city streets, collecting shiny objects (which double as currency for purchasing hats), engaging in bird-catching, or attempting to make new furry friends, the game fosters a charming atmosphere.

A Delightful Raccoon Romp Through Chaos and Charm

With such an adorable art style, quirky furry characters, and a lively town, there’s very little to complain about here. This game is the definition of silly. If you’ve played Untitled Goose Game – it’s on the same wavelength allowing you the freedom to complete objectives or be a menace in your neighborhood. While this game may be a tad simpler in comparison, but it’s still a great time. You encounter a raccoon who’s oblivious about being a raccoon but surprisingly knowledgeable about teleportation.

Hell, she even invents a fast travel system. You’re also free to wreak havoc by toppling citizens, stealing their belongings, or venturing into places you probably shouldn’t. Getting caught is a riot thanks to the amusing animations. Call me a child if you like, but overall, this was a fantastic time I just wish there was more of it. My sole gripe with this game is its minimalist approach. The storyline feels thin, resembling a mere brief checklist of missions to reach home. Surprisingly, I found myself rolling credits in under two hours with only a handful of side missions tackled. For me, that’s just too short, especially considering how much I enjoyed the straightforward adventure.

Thankfully, the game does offer an incentive for completionists to dive back in, but I couldn’t shake the feeling of wanting more from the overall experience. Little Kitty, Big City offers a charming yet super short adventure with smooth gameplay and endearing characters. Despite minor glitches, its laid-back vibe, entertaining gameplay, and comedic tone gives this title some well deserved spunk. While the thin storyline and short playtime may disappoint some, its adorable art style and quirky antics make for an enjoyable experience.
